2023 Reserve Syrah

Wine Maker Comments:

The Syrah off of the Sea Shell Vineyard is udoubtedly its most aromatically intense and savory variety. It is grown on the upper, west-facing slope of the estate, its steepest terrain.

Vinification:

The grapes for this delicious Syrah were harvested early in the morning of October 4, 2023, then destined and 75% crushed before being transferred to a stainless steel fermentation tank. Fermentation was maintained at approximately 90 degrees Farenheit, with pump-overs performed twice daily to maximize extraction. After 12 days of fermentation, the wine was pressed and aged for 18 months in French oak barrels, 45% of which were new.
